My spunky, beautiful, way-cooler-than-Kia, new friend, Elizabeth, at Three Channels, tagged me for this cool meme! I’m doing my best to make mine as quirky as possible. I do, however, think that I’m just a little too ordinary to be called quirky. Let’s see, shall we?
The Rules (and these were NOT made to be broken, got it?)
1. Link the person who tagged you.
2. Mention the rules on your blog.
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks you possess.
4. Tag 6 following bloggers by linking them.
5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged.
The Game (I got game, baby!)
1. I take photos for the sole purpose of scrapbooking them.
Oh, yes I do! Instead of scrapbooking for the purpose of all that “I’m preserving our memories” hoopla, I do the opposite. I take photos because I know they’ll make great scrapbook pages. Oh, and another little diddy? I have been known (there’s even photographic evidence to prove this), gasp, to buy clothing for Little Man because it will look good in the photos, for the scrapbook. Oh, and never mind getting all judgy-judgy with me, people. If you’re a scrapbooking mama, then you KNOW what I’m talking about. Just admit it.
2. I twirl and braid my hair a lot.
And, seeing as I just had my cut and highlights/lowlights put in on Saturday past, I thought I’d just take a wee pic-y to show you the hair of which I speak. Tada! Hair. For twirling. And braiding. You’ll notice my hair is quite short. But yet, I still twirl and braid. While I’m driving (Two hands on the wheel? PSHAW, folks! I’m a multi-tasker!), while I’m watching tv, while I’m reading, stressing, fuming, talking on the phone. Have you tried it? You might like it. As vices go, it’s a harmless one. Actually, it’s probably even good for your hair. You know, it gets the “natural oils” flowing. Or sumfin.
3. I’m a wee, teensy-tiny bit obsessive about keeping my nasal innards clean & clear!
Just because I know you’re wondering, NO! that tissue in the photo is not booger-laden. It’s just there for dramatic effect. So quit your “ew” -ing and your “gross” -ing, and get back here to finish reading about my quirkiness.
You know how sometimes you feel boogers in your nose when you’re breathing? And then you blow them out into a tissue only to be disappointed ’cause when you do another Test Breath, it still feels like there’s something in there?
Oh, for bleeps sake, you DO SO know what I mean. Let’s be real.
Moving on, la la la… Yeah, so you blow your nose and still feel like there’s something in there. Well, when this happens to me, I become what some might call obsessive about clearing the road in there. I’ll wrap that tissue around my finger tip and dig those suckers out. I’ll persist. I’ll give it all I’ve got. And. Are you ready? Gasp! I might actually use a naked finger if it comes to that. Those babies are coming out.
Ahem. This is the part where you say, “Yes, Kia. I do that, too. You’re not weird. Well, not totally weird.”
4. Cha-ching! I get really, really excited when I know there’s something I need to shop for.
Do you know what I mean? Probably not. Ok, follow me people. Think back to Sunday past. Here in the Gee-Tee-Eh (Greater Toronto Area), it was unseasonably cool, as well as wet. Surprise! Thanks again, Mother Nature. So, when we got dressed to go out, Little Man needed to wear long pants. He hasn’t worn any of his long pants since some time in May. That’s 3 months ago. Apparently we’ve been feeding the boy far more than necessary, because he took it upon himself to grow a couple of inches. Little turd. All of his pants are too short.
And here it comes…. I nearly jumped up and down with glee (I live a simple life, ok? What do they say about “small minds?”), because I knew that this meant I had to go shopping, and soon! What if we have a real wave of cool weather? It won’t do for LM’s pants’ bottoms to be tickling his calves, will it? So. I bought three new pairs today. Ahem.
5. I get silly-six-year-old-girl-with-a-new-dress silly when I see storage bins being put to good use.
I love, love, love to organize Little Man’s toys. I love, love, love when it feels like everything has a place and is in its place. Now if only I could carry this through to my dining room. And bedroom. And spare bedroom.
6. I collect expensive purses…
…and this one in the picture is my latest, the Coach Pleated Ergo Satchel, in Natural. Oh, and I like to purse-spot when I go out. WHAT?!! You’ve never heard of purse-spotting? Exactly what rock have you been living under? Purse-spotting is a popular hobby among stay-at-home moms-with-nothing-better-to-do everywhere! Here’s the skinny on purse-spotting: you go to a mall and see how many purses’ names/brands/style numbers you can name. Then you go home and research which purse you’re going to buy next.
What? You think that’s really stupid? What did I tell you about being all judgy-judgy? We’ll have none of that!
So that’s me done with the meme. Now it’s your turn. Here are the tags, in no particular order. If you are tagged and you haven’t followed through with the tag within 7 days, your computer will turn into a (POOF!) cloud of dust before your very eyes. Psstt! That last sentence? It’s a lie. Ssshhhhh…
Oh, and one more thing? If I didn’t tag you and you’d like to be tagged, consider yourself tagged!! Just let me know that you’re going to do it and I’ll add you to my list. Oh, the rules say only 6 people can do it? What rules? Are there rules? I don’t remember anything about rules. I hate rules.

you are HYSterical!!! I am the same exact way about the pcitures and the nose blowing. In fact, I was working on my quirks meme and trying to think of a clever and sassy way to talk about my nose obsession. I HATE boogers in my nose and will do almost anything to eliminate them!

Ok, you have absolutely made my day because 1) I have worn a baseball cap and pony tail for two days solid and in no way feel feminine, much less “beautiful” and 2) No one has ever called me “spunky” but it feels good and I’m going to embrace it by trying to actually be spunky.
This is funny, funny!
And woman, don’t worry, because you *are* quirky!

Patty, I’m so looking forward to reading about your nose and its boogers. Get on that, will you?!
Deb, see? I’m not quirky. Or maybe I am, but you’re equally quirky?
Elizabeth, or should I call you Spunky Brewster? I too want to be spunky. Will you promise to call me spunky at some point in the near future? Pretty please??

Fun! I fully admit to being both totally ordinary and quite quirky. I did something like this not too long ago, but I will attempt it again. I am not very dependable, though, and am on vaca w/ spotty internet so no promises! Thanks for the tag.
