…or, My Son’s Life as Truman.
Little Man: Mommy, I think we’re toys.
Kia: Toys? Us? What makes you think that?
Little Man: I don’t know, but somebody’s playin’ wiff us.
Kia (holding back giggles and snorts): Oh. I see. So we’re toys and someone is playing with us?
Little Man: Yes….and they’re using ‘mote controls.
Kia (WTF, seriously? What if he’s right? IS someone playing with us? That could explain a lot about my life): Wow, bud. That’s deep.
Little Man: Yeah, I’m deep. Mommy?
Kia: Yes, bud?
Little Man: Can we have a harvest feast at our house? Wiff lots of people that we like?

spooky – he is how old again? but smart and very perceptive little guy you have there

Um, I think your son just reinvented Calvinist theology from scratch.

I think that is the cutest thing I’ve heard in a long time! What a doll…and a perceptive one at that. Imagine what he will think about as he gets older!!!
Thank you for stopping by my site!! I’m figuring out how to use Squarespace, so I’m sorry for not replying sooner.
The weight loss is S…L…O…W, but it is coming along – I’m down another 15 lbs!

Wow, that boy is an old soul my friend. He has the makings of a philosopher.
I totally feel like a puppet. What I want to know is why the puppet master keeps ‘mote controlling me to the fridge? Jeez.
Maybe if he/she steered me to my exercise bike, I’d be able to fit into my jeans. kwim?

My husband sticks to the theory that life is one big game and we’re the little plastic people.
I’ve got a new post up today – anyone with daughters should read it. Well, I know YOU don’t have a daughter, but you know girls, right? SOMEBODY has a daughter.

I remember thinking along those lines as a kid- then they made me put the tin hat back on my head. Really though, I used to think what I was static, and the scenery just changed around me. I thought that for awhile until I realized that the scenery would have to change for a LOT of people, and it probably wasn’t a very good theory.
Very deep your kiddo is indeed!

You know, I often feel this way and that whoever is playing wiff us has a really sick sense of humor. Seriously, your kid is like a genius or something! You better get ready because he is going to be one of those kids who knows way more than most adults by the time he is 10!

He does get it, doesn’t he?
Maybe ask him who he thinks it is who is playing wiff us??? I’d sure like to know if they are having a good time.

I feel like this, too. Your son reminds me so much of mine. Scott would say things like this. One of my favorites was, “Mommy, why are we here anyway? Like, why are there people and trees and stuff?” Beats the heck out of me, kid. Maybe they know something we don’t, these smart kids of ours!

That’s a good one! You’d better start keeping a notebook…writing this stuff down…for when he’s famous! Seriously, there’s a lot going on in that head of his!
