Gads. Who the FECK thought up the fecktacular concept of summer holidays? Oh, right. The teachers. It’s a good thing I love my teacher friends or else I might be in my basement cooking up poison and bombs and shit.
I think school should be mandatory 12 months per year. Also, I think there should be the option of enrolling one’s child in 24-hour school. If WalFart can do it, why can’t schools?
It’s week 3 of summer “vay-cay.”
I want to die.
Between babysitting my senile father and tying my hands behind my back so that I don’t harm my selfish, bratty, insanely NEU-FECKING-ROTIC kid (Why the FECK can’t the grocery stores make GD sure that there are enough of those GD barrier thingies at each checkout?!!!!), I’m spent. Oh, and I’m bitchy. As hell.
Headaches? Still here. Sharp pain, almost permanently, in the left side of my head. Kind of interesting. Interesting in that it makes me want to saw off an arm to distract me from the head pain. Ok, not quite that interesting.
Must go watch Canada’s Next Top Anorexic Model. I keep hoping they’ll inspire me to eat less due to stress. Instead, I eat more because I feel like someone should consume all the food in the world that’s NOT being eaten by the models.
Oh, right. The diet. I’ve made much progress, actually. Have managed to gain back about half of what I had lost before going to Eff Ell Eh in May. Making short order of it, poste haste or something like that. If you’d like me to forward you a copy of my Just Released diet book, let me know.
Toodles!

Dev’s in extended school year per his IEP but is home by 12:30 and he’s off the last 3 weeks of August. Between that and the DIVA’S incessant whining, shouting the word NO and smacking me across the face. Someone aint’ making it to September.
At least you can drink!
Love you!

I agree. Schools should definitely be a 12 month program. Maybe if enough get on board, it will become a reality. After all, why should teachers get a break? Sorry also to hear about your headaches…Im sure the stress hasn’t helped them much, hope you find something to help soon.

My neighbor was telling me today how much she is enjoying the summer break. “It’s so great to not have them in school so we can all just relax and enjoy our time together.”
WTF?
I’d ask her to explain, but if I spend even another second in her happy, shiny presence, I’ll have to kill her.

I’m thinking of getting the new EA sports for the wii. I want to lose weight too, but then my kid drives me to eat. I agree with school 12 months a year. I’m having a hard go of it in here too. Hang in there!

I agree with you on the school thing. It’s ridiculous.
As for the diet, stay positive…you lost it once, you can do it again. GO KIA!

yes, in week 3 of no activities planned here, only (!) 6 to go. School has been out since May 30 here (quite late, it’s usually out before Memorial day) and they go back August 18. But I have to say what I hate even worse is the MILLIONS of days off that are sprinkled through the school year – whatever happened to Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas week, New Year’s Day, President’s day, and Memorial Day? Now it’s all those plus at LEAST 3 others a month, sometimes more, 2.5 weeks at Christmas, spring break, and days out early. Enough to drive you bonkers.

Oooof. Can’t you leave LM with your senile father while you go grocery shopping?
And, DAMMIT Kia. I think you gained the weight back because you were missing US, your online support group. We’re here for you, babe.

I am so with you on the topic of summer vacation. I used to be a teacher and I loved the vacations, but that was before I had kids of my own. Now? I am so ready for school to start up again so I can sit down once in a while….
I know what you mean about eating more with stress and when watching anorexic people. When I was a kid, I distinctly remember watching a tv show about Karen Carpenter with my family. I also distinctly remmeber us all getting hungry and pigging out on junk food while we watched poor Karen starve to death. That’s just the kind of family we were.
I so hope your headaches go away!

I so agree about summer vacations! Neither of my dimwits have jobs this summer, so I feel like the worst mother of 2 spoiled rotten teenage dims that ever lived. Plus, they’re probably smoking crack in the basement.
We’re visiting Boston right now. Alex and I are sleeping on the living room rug because the sofa beds suck so badly.
I hope your headache gets better!!!!

It looks like we have more in common than I thought, although I have my mother in law rather than my father living with me. Summer holidays….if ever there was a misnomer.
Cheers
